HELP Is it POSSIBLE to map Drum Rack like this??

Post by lusamars » Sun Sep 25, 2016 12:20 am

I got an Akai MPD218 and I'm going crazy trying to map a Drum Rack like this. BTW Im on OSX 10.10

So, every time I press any pad with Auto Select on, it shows the corresponding Simpler device for that pad, as it should.

NOW what I want to achieve is this: Using only 2 encoders, press any pad and use that 2 encoders for Start/Length and if i press a different pad and use that same encoders will ONLY affect the pad I'm in. Basically I want the rotary encoders to be independent of the pad I'm in.

Thank you in advance!

It should be possible by "emulating" Push.
Search on the web for Push's midi implementation; program you MPD to send the corresponding CC/notes; and then select Push as your control surface in Live's midi preferences with your MPD as in/out ports.
I can't test but I'm pretty sure it'll work.
