Thanks - I watched a laptop repair video on YouTube thinking that might clear it up and it did. I understand SATA now. Thanks

Received the new SSD and have all the files transferred. Now when I run Ableton (installed on laptop C: drive) it runs - scans all the vst's - but at the end when it asks if I want to recover my work - before I can even answer it shuts down. Tried it several times - same results. Best I can tell everything was transferred - only thing different was it kept the same drive numeration and I had to repoint all the files.

Files transferred to new SSD - had to reinstall Ableton for some reason (kept shutting down after vst scan) but it's all good now - everything running great.

Thought you might like to know - the replacement Samsung SSD is running at 45% - the last one at 9.65%
Still below optimum which is 70% for 1080 users - but much better
