Can I map the "status" icons of a Looper to an Impulse keybo

It would be very handy being able to show on an Impulse 25 keyboard
the status of the actual working Looper (playing; recording/overdubbing; stopped),
with the pads leds or on the display.

Should I get an APC40 or an old Push, would the above be possible, in some way?

Yes. Although it will take some tinkering. The state is accessible via the API, you could create a M4L device which observes the state and sends an LED change message to your controller to reflect the current state. How comfortable you are doing that I'm not sure.
