Fine-tuning velocity on MIDI notes in clip view
The normal way would be to drag the velocity bars up and down to get the desired velocity amount. But it seems that doing this with your mouse doesn't get very accurate results. For instance, when attempting to dial in the velocity of each instance of the snare to, say, 87 I can only get some of them at exactly 87; others I can only get either 86 or 88, but not right on 87 when using the mouse.
Is there a way to type in a value instead of using the mouse? Or use the arrow keys to change the value one step at a time? What method can I use to get more accurate results than the mouse gives me?

Well, for instance, when I want to set every instance of a snare hit to the same velocity in the same clip.hambone1 wrote:Why would 88 or 86 instead of 87 be needed?
FWIW...resizing the velocity window worked wonders, but the ctrl-clicking in Live 5 (not available in 4) did not give me an option on the menu to "edit velocity value" or anything of that nature. And nothing happened at all when I selected the "show all" option in the ctrl-click window.
It is : ALT +click the note with the left button / drag the mouse while holding ALT+left button, the velocity is tweaked, one step by one. (It's in the manual...)anarchicluv wrote: FWIW...resizing the velocity window worked wonders, but the ctrl-clicking in Live 5 (not available in 4) did not give me an option on the menu to "edit velocity value" or anything of that nature. You must be on a PC? I'm on a Mac...no left button on the trackpad.amo wrote:It is : ALT +click the note with the left button / drag the mouse while holding ALT+left button, the velocity is tweaked, one step by one. But I did find that I can go one value at a time if I just enlarge the velocity window; works splendidly!
In the manual, section 25.14 : use alt+drag (PC) or apple+drag (Mac)anarchicluv wrote:You must be on a PC?
