Link / Pre-rollCount-in?

It seems that the pre-roll (pre-record?) count-in function does not work when Ableton Link is enabled. What is your best practice/work around to deal with this?

In my case I would like to use iOS drum apps for real-time virtual performance takes but it makes things a little difficult without a count-in. Maybe I’m missing something obvious here...

You could maybe just find a spare phone or something and run a simple Link-enabled app from it as a metronome. An example of a free, small app on iOS is TweakyBeat. There are quite a few other options out there like this.

Aside from that, I think Link is mostly meant to always have a click going. So it generally assumes that something somewhere is giving the implied rhythm.

Thanks! Tried that...but flaky as hell. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn’t...
