DJ Tempo Slowdown Effect...?

Post by PhunnkMunk » Sat Jan 11, 2020 9:37 pm

anyone know the quickest, easiest way to create an effect in Ableton comparable to that of modulating the tempo adjustment on a CDJ down/up -50?

best audio example I could think of is in Fatboy Slim's "Rockefeller Skank," where he continually slows down the "funk soul brother" sample.

curious as to either what plugins could accomplish this, or other techniques using Ableton's built-in features...

- Use Delay, no feedback, 100% wet and decrease its time parameter (in ms, not tempo sync'ed).
- Use Pitch Drop, or one of the many other M4L devices that are designed to do this.
- Unwrap your audio clip in Arrangement, and automate the Tempo on the Master track
- Load your audio into Simpler, set it to mono, with portamento/glide On, set the glide time to taste, hold one midi note and press a 2nd one.
