Is there any way to change the default Drum Rack Simpler volume?

Post by beatislife » Mon Aug 03, 2020 12:45 am

I am in the process of creating my own drum kits in Ableton Live's Drum Rack and I've run into something of a flow killer.

When I load up an empty Drum Rack and add samples to the pads, all the Simpler instances in that Drum Rack default to -12dB making my samples very quiet by default, and i have to adjust each pad one by one.

Is there any way to change this so the new Simpler instances within a Drum Rack are not set to -12dB?

You can save a Simpler preset set to another volume in User Library > Defaults > Dropping Samples > On Drum Rack.

But -12 dB is fine, once you add tracks they add in volume.

Thank you for that tip!

This thing with the default low volume has been driving me nuts.

Actually, so far, once I add tracks, the samples I added in the Drum Rack are almost completely drowned out (with each Simpler instance at -12dB).
