Is there a way to do this, or an M4L device?
You know, you have a MIDI track with whatever, 16 clips, and you want them just played at random, forever, or whatever.
That a possible thing?
Triggering clips at random?
Re: Triggering clips at random?
Follow Actions have Any and Other random options and you can set a probability between 2 Follow Actions.

Stuff like ClyphX and M4L do add more options, Live 11 has improvements too.
Live only uses external MIDI for MIDI Assign, besides using random MIDI from a external source, another approach is using "virtual MIDI cables" like IAC on Mac or Loopmidi on Windows, they allow you to send MIDI outside Live to a virtual cable then back to Live, Live will see that MIDI as external MIDI, which you can use to MIDI Assign to slots, etc..

Re: Triggering clips at random?
thank you! Had no idea about follow actions, extremely useful. Exactly what I was looking for.
