how to control looped clips and follow actions

Post by albertopadilla » Fri Apr 30, 2021 4:13 am

Hello community, please excuse if this is not the right place, this is my first post here, and I do appreciate your thoughts.
I am using live and push as a tool for jazz improvisation learning and practice.
I have set a track containing a lot of different chord loops and I wan the following:
1) The clip will be in continuous looping if I dont do anything
2) The clip will jump to any other clip on the track (randomly) with the press of some shortcut, or push button. Back to 1)

Is this possible ?
I am super grateful if you can help me figure this out.
Cheers!

Follow Actions aren't controllable by MIDI....

What version of Live do you have, and do you have MaxforLive installed??

Are your clips warped?

Hey thanks.
I have live 11 and push 2.
Clips are all warped.
Basically I want a clip to be looping indefinitely until I want to change to some other RANDOM clip of the track.

I have tried setting a 100% follow action in all the clips for them to jump to any other and then disabling the follow actions using the "enable follow actions globally" button just below the master channel. The problem with this is that once is disabled, then there is no way to enable it again for the current looping clip, that will continue looping no matter what if that button is enabled or not. I would have to relaunch a clip again to enter into the follow action mode with is not what I am looking for.
Can somebody help me to find a workaround? I know there has to be at least one!
Thanks!

I've made this years ago, maybe it works? there is also a version for audio tracks.
