Manually edit remote midi control

Post by plemm » Thu May 26, 2022 9:51 pm

I have this controller that always sends 4 simultaneous midi notes. I only want to use one of them as remote control for something. What happens now is that when I push the midi-assign button and send the notes, the last one will be recognized. But what if I wanted another one (of the 4) to do the job. Of cause I can go to for instance MAX and send the right note from there. But wouldn’t it be much faster if I could manually edit the note. ( I can manually edit some things, like max and min values, but not the note or the channel.
Would that be possible?

Thanks for all help,
Peter

You might be able to hit Undo in mapping mode to map from one note to the next.

An example. If you went into map mode and mapped a knob, but then accidentally bumped your mod wheel. It would map to the mod wheel, but if you hit Undo, it will go back to the mapping of the knob.

In the case of your notes, the simultaneous notes are really quick. I’m not sure you’ll be able to get away with the Undo trick in this case, but it’s worth a shot.
