I had been using a very old iMac and Live 10. I always track with the buffer set to 64 to avoid audible latency. It worked fine.
Now I am using a brand new Mac Studio M1 Max with 64 GB memory. I get crackles all the time until I go to a much higher buffer, which introduces latency. I even upgraded to Live 11, but it is the same.
Why would a newer better computer have worse performance? Live and Mac OS are both up to date. Please help!
New Mac = worse performance?!
Re: New Mac = worse performance?!
Try 128 samples for your buffer, that seems to be the sweet spot for the newer M1 Macs right now.
