click with no accents
click with no accents
Hey Abletonians,
I'm running the latest version of the software. Is there any way of having no accents of the click?
I'm playing drums with Superior Drummer 3 inside of Ableton and it's so annoying I cannot just get simple, even click.
Best,
Jakulu

Re: click with no accents
I guess you mean the metronome sound.
On Windows you can find the wav files used for the sound here
and here
You have to Google for the exact MacOS locations.
Move the Up version of the sound to some other location.
Make a copy of the non-Up wav file and rename it to Up.
Now you have two wav files that sound the same, so no accented Ups.
On Windows you can find the wav files used for the sound here
Code: Select all
C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 11 Suite\Resources\Misc\Metronome\Samples
Code: Select all
C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 11 Suite\Resources\Core Library\Defaults\Metronomes\Samples

You can also play a clip in Session View. Not quite the same but mostly the same as a metronome.
Re: click with no accents
Thanks guys, it's a pity the metronome hasn't been updated in the 11 version.
Re: click with no accents
Updated in what way?
Did changing the wav files solve your issue?

Re: click with no accents
The way I use Ableton a lot as a drummer, is to have a template set up where I have one midi layer on which I use Superior Drummer 3 plugin.
The metronome that comes in Abletion natievly is quite basic. It doesn't let me have no accents or use odd time signatures. But, the thing is that I do need the accents sometimes as well, so swaping the files won't help much right?
So what I ended up doing which is what @yur2die4 suggested, which is that I created another midi layer with a click/ metronome sound which works in corespodence of the tempo set for the project. This will have to do for now
Thanks a lot for your input Lovely People!

Re: click with no accents
I use Ableton as a drummer and have set up a midi track with a drum rack on it. In the drum rack are a variety of blocks, claves, cowbells, shakers, beeps so I cam create any metronome/click track that I want using midi clips, either by looping a one bar clip, or creating a bespoke clip for the entire song. I’ve done the same with a cues track by having a drum rack with different words (countin, verse, chorus, breakdown etc) and then creating a midi clip that guides me through each song. Both of these tracks are panned hard left in my in ears so they stand out from the rest of my mix.
