EQ8 filter frequency to follow the midi note of an instrument

Is there any way to have an EQ8 filter frequency to follow the midi note played on an instrument?
Edit: solved by using the midi effect "expression control" from the Max for Live Essentials pack

Were you able to get Expression control to work perfectly? If so, what settings did you use?
