Asio Input and Output to different devices?

Here's my problem.

Using ASIO I'd like to record from my UA-5 usb audio interface and pay back using my PC's sound blaster x-fi card. I can do this if I use Direct X but the latency means playing bass lines becomes difficult. I could just swap over and listen on the UA-5 but the internal sound card has more power and lower latency.

Incidently I'm on a PC.

So is it possible to have Asio use one device for input and another for output or am I asking too much?

my understanding is that you can't use multiple audio interfaces.

i'm surprised that you are apparently using 2 devices w/ MME (?)
