There are some great threads on warping audio here but I dont have them tagged. If you do a search on warping Im sure they will come up. There shouldnt be any problems warping breaks stuff, if you can warp 4/4 you should be able to warp breaks.
What exactly are the warping problems you have?

try tapping the tempo of the song you want to loop. put on the metronome and finetune the tempo... or loop a bar and then finetune the tempo. use your ears!

Try going withe the snare rather than the kick. Breakbeats commonly has a snare on beat 2 and 4, but the kicks can be all over the place (and so can extra snares be too of course).
But once you get those 2/4 snares pinned down, eveything else should fall into place.
