djing: auto level gain(like traktor or gain level on djm600)
when i used vinyl for djing per example on the djm600 i prelistened somewhere on a loud part of the vinyl and looked at the channel level for setting the right level for the next track.
on tracktor the "auto" function did work good.
in live there r a few problems on doing same:
when not using the crossfader the level cannot be seen on the next track since live does show the level only after opening the line fader.
also using a fully opened send knob on every line channel and routing it to one channel for prelistening is not a good solution in my opinion.
is there any way to get live show the level of the channel without playing it (without also having to disable the channel maybe) ?
will ableton make a plugin for doing same professional "auto gain" as traktor does ?
or is there any plugin/vst which does this work ? tried many which i read searching for "normalizing"/"normalize" in this forum but did not find any real "pro" solution like the integrated "auto gain" in traktor.

No auto-gain, but there's some good discussion in this thread.
I would have thought sending the cue to a return track would be the easiest.. If you assign a key or button to the send, pressing it should toggle between 0 and 100%, effectively the same as using the cue button. Unless I'm missing something, or you're using other send effects so heavily that the levels are completely different (but that would be the same on a DJM600 wouldn't it?).
Or you should still be able to see the output level (just) on any insert effects in the chain.
