is there a shortcut for turning on/off master quantization? i.e. for midi clips, when recording midi data. it'd be nice to flip it on or off with a midi note or keyboard shortcut for some situations.

Nice!
(Although for me it moves the start marker - also very useful)

You mean record quantization or global quantization?
The shortcut to turn of the latter is ctrl+0 (cmd+0 for mac)

If u are using mac u can create your own shortcut for record quantization in the OS system prefs

Add the shift to get the end marker :)

Well, in OS X, go to system preferences > Keyboard and mouse > Keyboard shortcuts

then click the "+" and pick Live. in the "Menu Title" you must type the command EXACTLY as it shows in the menu. (ellipses and all for a lot of commands)

Right clicking on the time ruler in arrangement view will present a "show all" option, that will zoom out to show you the whole arrangement.
