When zoomed in too far to see loop brace ends you can still crop them in by going to the edge of the window.

Here's one that I don't think is that clear from previous tips mentioning the 'Duplicate' shortcut (at least it wasn't to me to start with).

You can also duplicate empty space in the arrange view, not just clips. Say you want a 1 bar clip starting on the 1st beat of every 4 bars. Highlight the clip and the subsequent 3 empty bars, then hit COMMAND+D until you have a regularly spaced clips for as long as you need them.

Make sure you read the full feature comparison chart before buying Live 6LE and realising that it doesn't have MIDI sync.....the one feature that was essential for what I would be using it for!!!!!!! :x

Awesome!
Now I could have used that a million time if I'd worked it out before. Thank you.
It's great for generating subtly varying textures over long time periods - just choose clip envelope lengths that are "mutually prime", for example (i.e. no common divisors) e.g. three parameters with envelope lenghts of 7,11 and 13 bars and you create a variation lasting 1001 bars.

The overall variation length is the LCM (least common multiple) of all your envelope lengths.

^^^^ Amen, an odd-lengthed Sample Offset clip envelope does wonders for adding variations to beats. :)

I'm pretty new to live, so this post has been a great help...cheers for all the tips guys...

Figured out a method for creating a positive feedback loop tho..

Set up a delay and compressor on yr send effect (rename this channel 'Feedback Delay' or something similar) then set the output of this to another audio channel (Lets call it 'Feedback Return'), the output of that one should be left to go to Master. Now if you send some sound (from another track) to the 'Feedback Delay' send, and adjust the send level of the 'Feedback Return channel' you should have a positive feedback loop i.e. some of the delayed signal is being sent back into the delay and on and on ad infinitum.
Anything above halfway on the 'Feedback Delay' send will cause the delay to increase in volume with each delay cycle, so careful not to bust yr speakers....

You can get some interesting results if you add other effects between the delay and compressor, eg a redux to downsample the delayed loop with each cycle...

If there's a more elegant way to do this, I'd be interested..

Hope thats halfway understandable...

I suppose I'd better post a Stuff I Wish I'd Figured Out A Long Time Ago - for me it's these bad boys (below). I don't know why, I'm pretty sure there's a keyboard shortcut set up for them but these buttons are gold for me - all they do is swap from Notes to Envelopes view, previously I'd been going down to the show/hide boxes... mmm so much better now.

You know, you don't even have to click on the buttons exactly. Just click the colored header.

When a plugin is selected, you can hit Return on your keyboard to acticate the Hot Swap function. Didn't know that before and stumbled across it by accident last night.
