timming problems with files from SX 2

Post by leighbeynon » Sat Feb 17, 2007 9:29 am

im workin with a friend, he recorded some audio files and an mp3 to show me what he has done,

when getting the files into live they wont sync and all timming is wrong
at first i noticed it was due to us using different sample rates, so chaged all files in soundforge to the same sample rate live is set to,

some file line up but alot are still out, why is this ?
and how can i attempt to fix it??

im using a external audiophile sound card it wont let me change my sample rates from 48,000

also cant seem to change the snap of wavs when using complex warp setting, i would have thought you can change it to what ever quantise you want ??

How were the original audio tracks recorded - were they recorded using a metronome or rhythm track to a constant tempo or just natural timing (in which case, you will need to get a handle on manual warp marking)

If they were recorded to a constant bpm metronome/rhythm track, how far out of sync are they? If they are just a bit out, try audio nudging as described on page 98 of the Ableton manual.
