His controller is custom made... I think he said he'd made it himself.

yes his controller is his own concoction:

and he was running OS9 when in wellingtron
mostly he said because he wanted to upgrade his laptop
to a faster model before switching to OSX
he opened his Live session for the gig to show us
& it would have taken maybe 5 or 10 minutes to load
it was 8 tracks wide (so it lines up with the controller)
and maybe 160 scenes deep
