MIDI-mapping notes without a keyboard

My piece of shit M-Audio keyboard broke (I will NEVER buy M-Audio again! It's all made of recycled Chinese condoms.), and I needed to MIDI-map some notes for dummy clips and MIDI feedback. The Live secretary keyboard will play notes, but won't do MIDI mapping.

You can MIDI feedback the notes to assign MIDI notes! The problem is that you can't launch the note once you're in MIDI map mode.

So loop the note in a MIDI clip, and send it to a virtual MIDI bus via remote. While it's looping, go into MIDI map mode, and click on whatever it is you want to MIDI map. Done! You can even change the note while it loops in MIDI map mode and assign another one without coming out of MIDI map mode.

Crap explanation, I know... but it works!

Yes i do this when 'on the road' without a controller. But i would actually like to be able to write in all the CCs by hand really, just select the item, click Midi map and go into the midi mappings list and from a drop down box select the CC or note. That would be alot easier and would stop the mucking about with midi feedback.

Also.. my Trigger finger is upset about your unkind comments directed at his designer and master...

OK... so I figured this out 11 years ago (as hambone1).

Now I can't get this to work in Live 9, using loopMIDI for the MIDI feedback.

Anyone else get this to work?
