Hey all,

I'm currently using Ableton to provide MIDI program changes to all the devices on a stage, I'm now looking to sync this up with our track system (JoeCo Blackbox Player), so I can start automating timed program changes mid song. I realise this would be very simple to do if I was running tracks from Ableton but for many long and boring reasons I'm not.

I was wondering if the scenes for each song could be triggered by an external audio source such as the click from our track system?

Any advice would be very much appreciated as I've only began to dip my toes into this DAW.

Cheers

x

M4L would let you do that.

Thanks for the reply, would you mind expanding on that? Seems a little vague.

EDIT: Just a note, I don't mind learning M4L to achieve this. I'm in no way lazy but a bump in the right direction would be a massive help..

You could make another audio file on top of your playback, just playing a quick impulse on times you want to trigger a scene. Your M4L device could detect the audio peak, and launch the function "call fire" on the path "live_set scenes X".

that was just a random idea. This might not be the best way to go. Especially, you're right when you're saying it'd be better if everything was running in live.
