Groove Armada Bassline

Post by dominicw78 » Thu Oct 11, 2007 7:53 am

Hi there,

I'm trying to replicate the awesome bass sound used in Superstylin'. Can't seem to quite get it.

Here's a reminder of how it sounds for you -

It has that drum and bass, sine and square subby feel to it, but at the end of the lick it does a bubbly woof woof type sound, which completely throws me.

I wonder if it's two bass sounds merged together?!

Any ideas, how it was done or what synth they may have been using.

I think they use a standard analog synth. On the computer you have MiniMoog or MiniMonsta which are vritual Moog synths.

The sound is a combination of mostly a square and the woofy sound sine/square combined. The woof is created with an LFO that modulates the filter values. Try playing with an analog synth and automating the filter with an LFO you will soon find the sound you need.
