how to create a kit?

I have samples of strings in wav format and i would like to create a kit or an instrument i could play on my keyboard like the midi instruments of live. I went trhougth the manual but did not see how. Can someone help me with that ?

In Tips & Tricks, there is a thread on how to make Simpler more like Sampler. It talks about assigning notes from a sample across a keyboard. Is that what you need?
