As far as I know this isn't a feature in live yet.

Does anyone know of a good program/system that can be used within live to virtual scratch.

Also what's a good midi controller for doing this?

If you've got Reaktor 5, BeatLookup 7.2, and a Kaoss Pad, there's a fantastic scratching effect in there.

You gotta love audio buffering...!

i don't know alot about scratching. but i guess you need turntables and stuff right?

you can get similar if not more unique results with ableton's crossfader though and maybe the grain delay.

Scratching; all the kids are doing it these days :-p

This guy managed to do it in fruityloops: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA1lZjFzgI8
But the technique applies to ableton as well. Basically get some samples of scratches and map a slider to pitch of a clip.

If you're really hardcore, m-audio torq has rewire support, you can use midi, vinyl, or CD controllers to scratch depending on the version you shell out for. Of course, this means buying more software AND more gear.

NI Traktor also does scratching, even the free Beatport player (built on traktor engine) has some basic scratching that you can do with the mouse, but there's no rewire support, so it might not be ideal for scratching in a live situation. You'll have to juggle exporting clips and resampling through your audio card if you want to combine with a live set.
