Stupid Ableton Live Video Tricks

Using live clips and MIDI controlled locators to control animations simultaneously while a set is playing (separate track for locators), using a hacked Live skin to create trails in those animations:

Pointless, yes, but it was fun. And it saved me from dropping money on Modul8 (modul8 IS awesome, tho).

Great technique! I use it to control lighting, as well as Arkaos video and remote pan/tilt/zoom cameras. It's even more powerful when you toss in MIDI effects, virtual MIDI buses, dummy clips, and Follow Actions.

Use Live MIDI to control just about anything MIDI-controllable.

Sometimes you gotta think outside the box...
