Behringer BCR 2000 questions

Post by oevboev » Tue Mar 11, 2008 4:36 am

Hi All.

So, I've read on the net about the BCR2000 - good reviews, everywhere I've found articles.

Where I live I havent got the option of trying it in a store.

As of right now, I'm using the M-Audio Axiom 25, but I don't like the feel of the knobs of it, I think there's too few of them and don't ever use the keys.

I would love to hear your opinion on the usability with Live and generel quality of the unit.

Thanks,
Andreas

Btw, I saw a guy on youtube demonstrate a problem with mac os x and the BCR2000.... something about the syncronisation between Live and this controller.... have any of you guys using mac experienced this problem?

I've had a BCR 2000 for a few weeks now and must say I'm glad that I finally bought it. No disappointments really.
I searched but didn't find any other device in that price range that have controls giving visual feedback. No need to look at the screen so much anymore.
I would like to have the knobs slightly smaller since it is difficult to turn them from 0 to 127 in a single twist, but that's just a minor thing.

i've had one for over a year now, and i love it. i've had some trouble with getting live to treat it as a bcr as opposed to just a general midi controller, but i'm sure there's just something that i'm forgetting..

Encoder resolution: look here...
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1683275

follow the instructions, and you can allow for acceleration on the encoders so one turn provides an increase of 128, or whatever you want.

Just saw on a Danish site that the BCR2000 is not supported by Vista and Intel-based Macs.
Anyone know if there's any truth to this?

the bcr is the best money i've ever spent. make sure you check out using it with mackie emulation. It changes the experience wildly. Also if you happen to have reason, the bcr2000s automapping to that is mind-blowingly powerful and intuitive. Plus watching those lights dance around during automation beats watching a motorized slider crawl around any day.

Glad to hear about the fact that the unit is so beloved, I'm looking forward to try it, however this still don't answers my latest and maybe stupid question about the supposed combability problems with intel macs and the bcr...
Any intel mac users out there using the bcr without problems?
Cheers

Worked straight out of the box on my macbook pro

I would imagine they are talking about the software supplied with the unit.

There is plenty of other free osx software to replace anything that you may need

Would you guys prefer a novation remote SL over the bcr2000?
