You may be able to help.

My simple instrument rack consists of a MIDI pitch plug in followed by a Sampler. The instrument is to be played by a 16-pad trigger finger and the MIDI pitch plug in is there to allow selection of different key zones on the sampler so the complete range can be played by the trigger finger.

So this works fine. However i would like the MIDI pitch amount to jump between specific increments e.g. -64 for bank 1, -56 for bank 2, -44 for bank 3 and so on.

Can this be done with a macro control and some clever stuff? So the macro can be a sort of preset navigator?

use a MIDI fx rack to hold 8 pitch plugs, each set to the right offset..

map them to the MIDI rack's chain selector, and that to the macro..

then you can house that inside your instrument rack, and carry the macro out to the front of the rack.

nice. that's the sort of stuff i'm looking for.

this solution would be great....but i need to access 12 banks and i guess i'm limited to 8 different MIDI offsets because of the number of macros?

no

the chain selector is what's choosing the presets. so you are limited to 128 banks

just set up 12 pitch plugin chains...

so would i have to have an instance of sampler in every chain as well then? that would mean 12 copies of sampler.

or is there a way of feeding the MIDI offset into a new chain with just one sampler?

ah cool... i worked out a way to do it. i used a MIDI effects rack nested inside an instrument rack, with a single instance of sampler.
