"gaming center"

IMO that might be the only aspect that will get some on board if they already own a newish large TV. But I also think game developers are really going to have to step up to the plate on their offerings. The App Store on Macs is littered with games ported from idevices that are cheap but in no way can compete with console games...or even the experience of playing them on an idevice.

First off, there's no fucking way it's going to be called the 'iPanel'. ffs.

Second, the gaming aspect of the iPanel ( :x ) is going to be MASSIVE - and rightly so.

They're prolly going to find a way to load all your iDevice games, then control them via your iPhone/iPad or the fancy remote that will come with the iPanel ( :x ).

Using AirPlay to mirror games is nothing short of pure SHIT because of the millisecond lag via your wifi. The HDMI cable connection is also SHIT because the fucking thing keeps slightly popping out in the middle of some crucial maneuver :P :P :P :P :P

My guess is a localized bluetooth connection. Bluetooth using my iCade is extremely fast.

Fuck. I'm staring to warm to the iPanel moniker.

:x

Cook flew out and met with the Steam people. This can only mean game integration and I highly doubt it’s only on Macs because you can already get games from Steam for Macs and it wouldn’t inspire a visit from Cook. 8O

Unless Apple plans to do like they did with Logic and buy it and kill the PC side of things.

Even if Apple doesn't release a TV it's fun to watch Comcast shit themselves over just the prospect with their frequent emails about shit you can do or view on mobile devices, expanded on demand movies and TV shows, and they're beta testing some new interface that looks a bit like Apple TV instead of the 8-bit looking shit I'm using now. I'm sure the other major cable companies are doing the same. :P

And nobody should think they are doing this purely out of tech interest or just competing with each other. We're already years into people getting all their TV entertainment from just Netflix and internet streaming. It wasn't until Jobs hinted at Apple's entry into the full TV market that cable companies started stepping up their game.

Now if somebody could just start the rumor that Apple is planning to revolutionize affordable housing. :x

It has also been mentioned that Apple could possibly plan to topple Netflix between their industry connections and uber iCloud data centers. 8O

Good morning my good friends.
so...APPLE TV. I'm interested.
Do you guys use it often? I don't see much chatter around here about it. WHAT IS YOUR SALES PITCH to me on why it is good?
I just need it for the upstairs which we don't want to hook up cable tv for various reasons.
But we would like some sort of entertainment on the TV up there.

P.S. yes I have WiFi.

Thank you my good friends.

You can wirelessly stream everything in your iTunes library, rent movies from iTunes, and stream Netflix or Hulu if you use those.

You shouldn't have any issues if the wifi signal has been fine on your computers and portable devices used in the same location you would have the Apple TV in.
