Hi guys, this may well be a novice question and my first on this forum, but I'm trying find a way to map my track arm button to send that track to a single audio.
Either through activating a send, or through altering the "audio in" on the looper track.

The idea is to have a single looper, routed out to an audio track, which receives signal from any track that is armed.
This way a single looper can generate new clips from whatever track is armed when the looper is activated.

Is this possible within ableton or would it require an M4L workaround?

any help would be most rad. This rabbithole is deeeep!

Arm all the loop tracks. Set them only to 'Off' monitoring. Then they'll record.

Have the audio input channel set to In, unarmed.

Have all the Off channels armed and receiving from In. They won't make sound except when they play clips, even though they can record the audio from the In channel.

Thanks yur2die4... But it won't work for me to have them all armed.

I'm trying to build a set that gives me the most improvisatory freedom on stage. Essentially, what I'm asking is how to use one button in ableton to control another.

Like "when volume hits 0, disable device", or "when track 2 is armed, track 5's audio in switches to track 2".

I'm hoping there's a way to do this in live as I have no experience with Max.

Oh. I see. You want one channel to receive from all channels.

Except you want it on or off depending on which you choose.

A close method you might want to attempt is to use Send/Returns. This would at least allow all channels to send simultaneously to a single channel via the send knobs.

Kind of, but really what I'm looking for is a magical ableton utility device with knobs and buttons which can take inputs from ableton and reroute them elsewhere. Like, when you turn off a track you also turn off the devices therein... or when track one is armed, track 5 arms and changes input. Checked out mac automator but I don't think it'd do it. Seems like this needs a Max treatment. Pitty I have no idea what I'm doing in there, but I guess you've got to start somewhere!

Thanks for the help.
