I know this is probably better suited to the Centercode forum but the device will land here in the wild soon enough ...
Is anyone else as baffled as me as to the existence of the Channel EQ?
It seems totally pointless, useless, worthless a real waste of space!
The interface is... not good, and the functionality is far less than EQ 8
Am I correct in assuming it's "An EQ which is easier to use in Push" ?
because I simply cant figure out a reason for it to exist. It's ... crap!
The New Channel EQ
Re: The New Channel EQ
I felt the same at first, but I've decided to put it on my default tracks to force me to use it and now I actually think it's quite good because it's very well tuned for such a simple device. That doesn't mean that I use it that often actually, but at least I realized that the curves are smartly designed imho.
It's not about Push but about Live Intro actually which doesn't have EQ8.

Ah yeah, that makes a lot of sense when you put it that way. EQ3 is not really a good introduction to the main program.
I really tried to use it, but it's just so weird with the fixed frequencies. I can't see me opening it ever again. It made me search for a "Hide Device" feature (which doesnt exist of course). It's just clutter.
Re: The New Channel EQ
I'll be honest, I was surprised as well by it, it just doesn't seem like something we need in Live. If it was a replacement for EQ3 or something I'd understand it a bit better and it would make sense for Intro users. Just not my thing I guess.
