I think if that course would do something like getting you a foot in the door in these places it would be a.) very expensive, b.) very hard to get into c.) all of the above. And you're probably too old anyways. People over 35 are basically unemployable for any sort of real career nowadays.

Isn't the promising connections stick the business model of basically every MBA school out there?!

There are all kinds of cogs in the machine. Apple isn’t 39,990 engineers and 10 receptionists. I just don’t want to walk in and say my main qualifications are owning an irresponsible amount of Apple products and a good percentage of my paycheck would go right back to Apple as a consumer. Millions of other applicants could walk in with the same qualifications.

And I don’t buy your people over 35 are screwed with careers. There are people going back to school to change careers in their 40’s+ and I don’t hear any “well that was a dumb move” stories. There’s something to be said about having maturity and work experience. Companies can take the risk with the young and inexperienced to hopefully come up with the exciting new ideas but there are still other jobs that need to be done that just require dedication and reliability, and older people tend to not just jump ship because there’s a better food court at a different company.

Truth be told I can share your pessimism, but nobody has ever pessimisted themselves to success.

What's funny about rap is that 16 years ago if you listened to the radio, 80% of the lyrics were cut out. It was completely nonsense. Now, the lyrics are not "cut out" and they are still completely nonsense.

There’s potential for it being a waste of time for sure, but I do think they are sincerely interested in helping people interested in the music industry and technology. It’s possible their names being attached that makes people on here think that running their music empire from their bedroom via SoundCloud, Facebook, and Twitter would yield better results. Although it doesn’t sound like that is going too well for most.
