Just got back from my first post-snowstorm ride, since it was relatively warm today.
Shoes and jeans slightly grimy due to front wheel splash, but the back was the real deal. Ended up with a streak of grime and water all the way from just above my back pockets all the way up to the back of my head (i was wearing a hooded jacket luckily).
dear sweet baby jebus I need fenders.

You're crazy riding that bike in salt-melted snow water without fenders.

Indeed.
I gave the bike a good sponge wash once I got back. Any recommendations for cleaning and extending frame life? Maybe there's some stuff I can spray on it.

Take the seat post off and tip it upside down once in awhile.

As of next month I'm going to be eligible for the Cyclescheme, whereby my employer gets me a pretty good discount on a bike on the premise that I use it for getting to work. Thinking I might get a nice road bike, only had MTBs in the past so I fancy a change plus I'd mostly be using it around the city anyway, and I live in a fairly hilly city so getting a heavy MTB up the roads is a pain.
However I've been hearing there's plenty good trails outside the city so I'll no doubt buy a decent MTB at some point

HOORAY FOR DECENT WEATHER!!!
Boo for hangover.
Felt like throwing up throughout most of today's ride
Kept it relatively short... and pretty random. I didn't really have a set path. Just rode around, and tried to find my way back home when I already felt last night's vodka coming back up.
Seriously loved today's weather. Spring can't come soon enough.

Yeah NYC in general is pretty flat. Makes it perfect for FG's imo.
There's a few hills here and there but nothing challenging. I think the hardest "hills" you can hit here are the bridges.

Oof, yeah, the bridges are a workout.
How are you liking the new drop handle bars?
Those rims look sharp!
Were you more hungover today or Friday morning
?

I enjoy riding the track drops a lot more than the risers or the bullhorns. I constantly switch between the drops, the tops, and the hoods. I like how the drops feel when sprinting or climbing.
And thanks! I'm quite happy with them rims.
Actually, even though i was SMASHED thursday night (good times at the party btw), I managed to wake up friday with a very light hangover. Barely there, really. I was definitely WAY more hungover today. Did a fair bit of mixing last night.

i tested it out, and it took me over a completely non bike friendly overpass!!! 55mph speed limit 3 foot shoulders banking turn!!
i have seen people drive over that and hug the inside wall (where i would be riding)
