yeah I read a few hours later elsewhere that it's still inaccurate in some cities. That sucks. Dangerous. I guess, as with any GPS / maps thing, you should take its directions with a grain of salt.

Anyways a bikes update for the Maps and Google earth apps on the iphone would be sweet... once they get their issues sorted out.

Boonen was so close!!!!!!!

Well a few bike lengths away but 2nd isn't bad considering its his best finish in 8 tries at MSR. 4 wins and a 2nd at MSR is a great way to start the season and show hes on form for Paris–Roubaix and Flanders.

Nice pictures.

Where is this? I want to guess somewhere in Greece, but then again I might be wrong.

Those first 15 km look intense!

Anyways instead of splurging on new music gear (which I didn't feel like I needed)... I ended up splurging on a new frame, new rims, and a few other parts (which I also didn't need).

Stuff arrives sometime this week. It'll be a fixed gear as well so it won't take too long to get it up and running.

Got a mechanic bike stand for my birthday this morning too, this will make working on bikes SOOO much easier.

I could look for some greece pictures some time,
but these were taken along the Rhein/Rhine.
the middle one is at the wonderful Schnirkel festival in Switzerland, now defunct I fear...

I've always admired the simplicity of fixed gear bikes.
this "tone is in the fingers" /"speed is in the calves" minimalism.
and I know the self apointed christmas of waiting for the mailman with the new toys

is it there yet?

I myself will have to wait with splurging until I paid the dentist/decided on what/sold some software.
But I did go to get my bike from where i stored it. I thought it would be kept in the garage, but from the looks of it, it was outside all winter :? Still was a nice ride home though after a few squirts of WD40

oh i see. well in either case, I thought it was greece due to the map. If you have any pics from rides around greek... sure! Share em.

My new bike parts are taking too long to arrive. Getting antsy

Dunno if it's been posted here already, but MapMyRide now has a really nice "Watch Course Fly-By Video" feature in beta. Uses the Google Earth plug-in, works really nice for shorter routes; didn't cope so well with my 800km over the alps trip. :)

That sounds good. Gotta try it.

Anyhoo... It took blood, sweat, and tears building this baby from the ground up right in my living room. So it feels REALLY good to finally have it finished. Already took her out for a spin and it all went like clockwork. Great sense of achievement

Oh and yes... it's TARCK as fuck, as they say

Ditch the pink tape, otherwise it looks sweet. How much does it cost to build up a bike like that?
