Hey, i know this post is really old, but i´m looking for an answer to the last question and can´t find it anywhere. Whats the latency of this unit as an audio card?
Probably not as good as an rme, but how about compared to a motu?
Hope anyone can clarify this.
Thanks in advance.

Same here, let's see if we can bring this thread back to life...

I also have a few questions on the 16.0.2, mainly:

- Firewire: do you know if the multitrack recording to Ableton will work if I use a simple Firewire to USB cable? Or do I need to install a Firewire interface on my PC? Can be done quickly and cheaply but I'm lazy...

- Volume: I heard on a review that you can record pretty much everything back into Ableton, except volume levels from the faders... Is that right? Meaning, you can EQ, apply FX, etc... on the mixer but you'll still have to do a final mix down for volumes on Ableton?

Curious to know how you guys use this mixer in your own workflows.

Thanks!
AT

I don't know about the FW/USB cable.
And yes, it records Pre-Fader, and can be Post-FX or not, your choice. Which is good so you can have a good recording level.

I´m pretty satisfied with my unit. Really nice features for its price.
Cheers,

Thanks!

So, recording to DAW via USB is pre-fader but can be post-fx.

Is it also post-EQ and other processing? I don't really plan to use it live, at least not in the near future. So mainly I'm looking for something to group all my sound sources and record multitrack but ideally I'd like to do most of the mixing on the mixer and not the computer.

Trying to assess if the Presonus Studiolive is a good choice for me

Exactly. There is one button to rec pre or post fx (all fx included).
Having a gate and a high pass filter available in every channel is really good.
I rarely use the reverb and delay on the unit. They aren´t recorded on each channel. Only on the master.
One more thing to notice: The mixer doesn´t record 16 separate channels + the master. If you want to record also the master (thats what i do) you´ll have to use 15&16 for the master (its an option you´ll have to click in the driver).
Hope it helps.
Cheers,

hi guys,

I recently acquired a 16.0.2 and I absolutely love this device. Would echo all the comments so far made here. It really has a great workflow with being able to record individually and simultaneously all the channels.

I did however have one important and crucial question that needs answering and forgive me in advance if the question doesn't make complete sense.
Is there a way I can record any sound coming out of my computer into the assigned channel that I've set for connecting Ableton into my Presonus. This wouldn't be a file on my computer but for example something streaming online

thanks in advance
