this is a genuine question; how do you remedy the situation? otherwise all speculation and whatnot doesn't matter one bit. seriously...

What about the situation needs a remedy? Is it that there is too much money in politics? Is it that the money comes from the wrong places? Is it that we don't follow our own damn Constitution half the time and seem to apply it only when we like the predetermined result?

One group of people who actually are attempting to do something are taking a strategy of pubic campaign financing:

http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/labor ... nce-fight/

In effect, this attempts to even the playing field between those who are financed by big money, and those who are not- the bill is called the "Fair Elections Now Act (HR 1826 / SR 752)". It is supported by groups ranging from Greenpeace to the Hip Hop Caucus (who the hell are they?!)

Hand wringing is one thing- but I think that way too many people are quick to conclude that this is automatically the wrong decision on the part of SCOTUS.

Who is "we." Speak for yourself, there is nobody who will identify with you. Secondly, ad hominem attacks on people's screen names, etc. are not as brilliant as you think. Ad hominem is a logical fallacy and is worthless. Also, you did not respond at all to my comment because what I said is true.

Corporations should be subject to free-speech zones too....they can run their ads, but only at 4 am on Sunday nights. There, that's keeping things fair.
