Its a statement of fact. Here. let me spell it out for you..
M*A*C*'S S*O*U*N*D B*E*T*T*E*R T*H*A*N P*C*'S
I'm not sure i would go so far as to describe them as sounding "more analogish" Thats just silly. All of them are digital machines.
I have three Macs running, a G5 a QUADCORE Intell 2.66 and a mac book pro unibody.
I would say that all three have a different sound quality or character that lends its self to different parts of the production process.
For example, my G5 makes drums sound a lot more crunchy that my quad-core, so i tend to build my phat beatz on the G5 then burn them to a 16bit
CD, I like the tone of the cd rom drive in the G5 and the filtering it adds. My quad-core is way better at capturing the upper 64 bit integer floating points that make a lot of the freeware synths sound like the really expensive native instruments and fruity loops ones.
The unibody is awesome great for making delays. I will often run a cable out of my quad-core into my unibody then back again.
Then, if i move the lap top further away from the quad core the delay gets longer. Its a bit like how they used to make reverbs and delays back in the olden days using buckets and tin cans on bits of string.
But any way..
The real point is.
Mac's FTW
Hellz yeah!!!!!! \m/
I think this might be the most ridiculous post I've ever read on any forum about music production with computers.

LOL. I am a mac user and I tend to agree
Re: Mac vs PC ???
As a Mac user, I disagree. I believe this thread does a good job of expounding the differences, however subtle, between Macs and PCs, and represents both products fairly.

But of course it does
Re: Mac vs PC ???
Heh, I just realised how crazy I sound. I'm currently in the process of reinstalling two Macs as a bi-yearly maintenance cleanup. Long story short, I had some serious issues with disk partitions and had to bring in a third Mac just to reformat. It was pretty hit-and-miss for a while, but things seem to be running smoothly again. Five hours later.
It just works

Crazy? You?
These are pretty complicated pieces of engineering, both PC and Mac. Bits of kit driven by ghostly patterns of magnetized cristal and wafers of hyperthin silicon. It's a wonder they all work at all. None of them are completely fail safe.

I love how you say this as if it were some kind of new found wisdom. It really is quite delightful how this actually needs to explained to people. PCs suck.quiet_ou wrote:These are pretty complicated pieces of engineering, both PC and Mac. Bits of kit driven by ghostly patterns of magnetized cristal and wafers of hyperthin silicon.
