Highlight a mp3/aiff/etc file in Finder. Get info (cmd-I) -> open with QuickTime player -> change all.

AFAIK if you have tons of mp3s, & you do incremental backups your next one could take a while, cause they all were "changed"... (not totally sure about that…)

and that you can do with ANY filetype, no matter if audio or text, or whatever, to assign it to open a specific application when you double click on it.

I've never been a fan of itunes. For one thing (on windows) it just seems to slow your whole system down when I-tunes is open.
I used Winamp forever, but recently bought a Zune player. I have to say I love the Zune software and I especially love the zune pass subscription. I have gotten into so mucn new music and new artists thanks to the zune pass subscription. Best 15.95 a month I ever spent (plus 10 tracks to keep unrestricted a month)

yeah, hope to see it coming over to europe as an alternative.. now with the windows phone 7 series, it might be possible.
