These are tutorials about Live's effects, but the sound quality is so shitty you can't even tell if he's even doing anything. There's also a lot of misinformation and just not understanding the effects, like for example in one of the videos:

"EQ has a rule: always cut before you boost."
*proceeds to boost the fuck out of the bass 1 minute later*

I think it was this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFOvLoZu ... re=related Add to that that the meter is always in the red and he never turns it down.

I got respect for the guy for making tutorials, since I'd never do something like that, but if it's about audio, don't you want better audio quality than recording inside a trashcan?
woah that hurts, does he have a vacuum cleaner in the background on or what?

+1 for him making movies, -1 for the setup.. (and the possible false information)

This was painful to WATCH as well as hear. He has the drums pushing major redlining so the entire beat just with drums if it were mixed down as a 16 bit wav or aiff would sound like absolute dogsh*t. Talks about cutting eqs and then proceed to boost the bass without sweeping the frequency band to see where it needs it, just throws it in at 151 Hz with +6dB boost (so much for 'eqing is misunderstood - it's all about cutting). Just plucks magic threshold figures out of the air without testing them, gives no explanation as to why he changed the threshold from -30dB to -26dB on the compressor.

I grade this paper an F. See Me in red ink and will force him to watch some proper tutorials, like Nick The Zombie, Tom Cosm, Timothy Allan, Covert Operators and such.

haha I just noticed that every few seconds his CPU meter jumps to %10000 even when not doing anything at all.

And I may not know a whole lot about how to use compressor correctly, but even I can tell his settings aren't doing shit.

They got some balls to post the vids
some can say they got some balls, some could argue that they got no brain, ...

well, in fact you need balls if you don't have a brain generally..., and vice versa!! lol

thanks for your feedback, the thread is not only about laughing at other people, but rather to discuss the fact that they post such vids...

for me, all these vids, even the one with the shiny "yo wassup?" sunglassed guy, are only made by narcissic people who just want us to see them, so we see them, and comment...

do you really need some balls to do that? I don't think so, but that's just my humbe opinion

cheers

well, my vids on youtube are absolute crap (in quality, in content, in anything :) not music related, though). but each of those got set up for some simple purpose: showing something to someone.

the fact that it's viewable for anyone isn't of importance for me. nothing to hide. but i could understand posting some youtube videos of some gear you got, just to show it some friends. and the rest of the world would just laugh. but that's not the actual purpose of those videos mostly. people don't get the "publish to the whole world thing", mostly.

The only issue i have with those types of videos is that the majority of younger viewers don't know / realise what's wrong about them, then again why do i care? but damn it seriously hurts like a hard hit in the face seeing idiots like that.

I decided to post the only video of me (not by me), to avoid further big douches about me making this thread and laughing at big-balled video youtube publishers...

Starving Student, come here and post your 1.000.000 youtube links again!!! (but please only the laughable ones...)

you shouldn't have forced it to be free. at least give users the option to pay for it if they like it... :) you'd have gotten some bucks, dude :) i like your stuff, really. i somehow feel dirty to do so, but i do :)
