Accepted to Grad School
Just thought I'd share the good news. I've been accepted to Masters of Urban and Regional Planning program at the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.

Let me save you some money.
Take any current industrial area and rezone it for housing. Convert all those buildings into high end condo lofts. Leave the original exteriors except replace the windows. Make mad loot. Give anybody who used to work in those buildings a free bus ticket to Detroit. Rezone all of Detroit as an industrial area.

Nice one. I finished my Masters in '08. Was long and painful but worth it in the end. Good luck with your new studeez.

He is.
I'm just playin'.
But really nobody goes to grad school to continue a pattern of being broke. If you want to continue that pattern then you might as well just continue to DJ for a living.

Yup. Me, the wife, and the baby. Lucky for us grad school is temporary and quick. My wife really wants to come back to Seattle as soon as we can.nebulae wrote:Congrats, dude! So the family is moving to Minnesota...bring your warm clothes!
I'm pretty excited about the career prospects. While the title of Economic Development Policy Analyst is not as sexy as say world class globe trotting DJ it'll pay the bills.

All the best in your endeavors....
I have 2 prior collage degrees, and it was not enough, so I'm currently acquiring an RN license....
I always wanted the 3 day work week that was legit, with benefits and retirement. Nursing is the perfect fit for my music and family related time demands.

Re: Accepted to Grad School
Thanks for sharing the news DJ A. Glad you still think of us.
Pardon me. Anyhow, wait... weren't you just in school? Last I recall you were going off for some computery learnin'. Is this a part of that?
You gunna change your name to DJ EDPA?

Re: Accepted to Grad School
About that...I got much better grades in Economics than I did in Computer Science. That pretty much solved that problem.
There should be a 4 to 5 year thread I posted about going back to school. Well 4 to 5 years later I'm graduating and going on to the next step.
