Re: iPad
Sorry. Been utterly consumed with work projects.
That and the state of new apps...or people updating their apps to get complaint with the awesome CoreMIDI sync we now know can be done...is fucking DREADFUL.
Boring.
Completely boring.
No iODock yet.
No iConnectMIDI.
Fucking exciting as paint drying.

All that work better not be eating into the time needed for the creation of the animated gif you will be presenting on this thread’s birthday Saturday.

Apple stores planning something to mark the 10th anniversary of the first Apple stores that were open on May 19th, 2001.
Here's what we know:
- There’s an overnight shift planned for around 10-15 individuals at each Apple Store to work from late Saturday all the way through mid-Sunday.
- During the overnight shift, it’s going to be required that employees lock cell phones in the main office. They will also have to sign an NDA with Apple.
- There are a wide variety of roles, we’re told, for the overnight shift. This includes all visuals staff, a manager, a business team member, a few Genius team members, one back-of-house employee, and a few generic Apple specialists.
- Apple stores have apparently already received hardware to install, and are expecting more hardware to come on Friday or Saturday. All materials that Apple stores have received have been instructed to be under lock and key until after close on Saturday night.
- Apple employees will be putting up black curtains at all stores so that people walking outside cannot see inside.
- Employees have had to download gigabytes of data from Apple corporate labeled, “training” in a password-protected zipped folder that won’t be accessible to managers or anyone else until Saturday afternoon.
- Lastly, all Apple retail stores have mandatory meetings on Sunday, May 22nd. Most meetings are scheduled for the morning, but there are evening meetings as well.

@beats me : very interesting.
It's not quite clear from your post, but are the night-shifts open to the public? Or I would presume they'd be spending the whole night doing setup stuff

Re: iPad
Trying to do standard typing on the iPad really is abysmal. I've got the flying thumb action going. Getting to the 'b' is sometimes a challenge, but other than that I can really cruise on this thing.

Put it this way: It's no coincidence that the 10th year anniversay is timed almost perfectly with this thread's one year anniversary.

not but
you farkin nailed it!
all that's missing are the chunks of 'death by Trent' synth scattered around

I miss NIN and think the world could really use some more Trentisms right now.

The iPad is THE tool to have if you are staring down the barrel of unemployment. So many great distractions to get for just a couple bucks or even free. Plus you can get one of those (relatively expensive) OmniGroup apps to log your depression and map your master plan.

I want a new iPhone. What do you think... go for a 4 now, or wait a million years until Fall for the iPhone 5?
