Re: iPad
Buying an iPad today. Can't decide between the iPad2 and current version with retina display. My main use for it will be to run the Lemur soft. Anyone using the retina display and running Lemur? Can you tell me... do the templates built for iPad display correctly at the higher rez of the retina display, particularly LiveControl 2?
Thanks for any feedback!

Re: iPad
The retina display has been around for like 2 years now I think. I can’t imagine any developer having an app out now that isn’t optimized for the retina display. I think Apple even started rejecting apps that aren’t.

Re: iPad
Sounds like the iPad 4 is the way to go then... I don't think I can't wait it out until fall. My only question is how the templates will fit on the retina resolution but I'm sure you're correct that they look great. I'm just a little paranoid because the Lemur templates availability vary according to device... some are built for legacy, some for iPhone and some for iPad. Just to be sure I will ask in the Lemur thread.
Thanx for the infos!

Re: iPad
Most likely perfectly scalable (with or without conversion, I don't know) if they were built for iPad 1 or 2. I can't fathom why an application wouldn't be able to convert a 100x100 square block to a 200x200 square block.continuous wrote:Sounds like the iPad 4 is the way to go then... Yes, it was a stupid question... another user has confirmed it looks sweet on the retina.

Re: iPad
Just picked up a 6 month old 15" retina macbook pro off craigslist, mint condition, $2,125.
Quad 2.7, 16GB, 512SSD, came with a black Spec case, Level 8 bag, iWork, iLife, and the Apple USB Superdrive.
I continue my reign as the Craigslist Apple King!©
More than I wanted to spend, but including 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD into an older model without USB3 or the retina made it almost as expensive even used... USB 3 and Thunderbolt make me think I can easily get 5 1/2 years out of this macbook like I have out of the 07 17" it's replacing!

Yeah, someone who waits 5 1/2 years between upgrades and buys used is going to fit nicely into to your stereotypically short sighted anti apple rhetoric!#1thelark wrote:Just wait for the 4k Apple Cinema TV... Soon you'll be forced to upgrade to thunderbolt2

Lol, my three year old iphone with about $40 worth of apps says your full of crap.#1thelark wrote:Waiting 5yrs between updates is no big deal on a notebook... in the meantime you'll have spend 5000 bucks on several IOS-devices which will not be supported after 2 years
Mostly, you're a jelly hater!
Re: iPad
lol. Just read the release notes for an app update where one of the improvements is “4th generation iPod now correctly listed as not supported”. In other words “Thanks for the purchase but its never going to work on your device. Our ass is now covered for saying so after the fact.”
And from reading reviews in general the 4th gen iPod Touch does seem to be a POS. It’s the #1 cause of 1 star reviews.
