I see they are separated in 3 different apps in the store (Excel,PowerPoint,Word). so the $99 in-app is what? One year? They don't describe it very well.

THIS.
When I have to do “Office” work at home or on the go (which is never in both cases) I prefer iWork.

I use Numbers at least 2 hours every day, so I'm not a just a weekend spreadsheeter. It was a bit of a shock when they completely rewrote it, but I adjusted in about .3 seconds, and now we're dandy again.
I predict that in 10 years time, some teenagers won't even have heard of Microsoft.

That’s interesting because out of the 3 Numbers is the one most complained about because its missing some life affirming features that would bring the business world to a screeching halt if Excel didn’t have them either.

It does what I need. I've got a lot of "recipes" which are customised by defining parameters in one table and generated, INCI names and all, in another. The total cost is also dynamically generated by drawing on a separate list of ingredients, whose prices are linked to a currency chart. It's neat, but above all it's sexy. These earthquakes have tested what is important to me. The first things I grabbed were my iPhone and my Macbook!
