Re: iPad
can she tell that she doesn't get them, or do you sit back thinking all is well until the luxury of having her in the room kicks in when she says "hmm, still didn't receive it"?
i hate it when there is no failure error, so the sender thinks/expects that the recipient received the message.

Re: iPad
I just read that it's a limitation of the iOS beta, so I assume they have something in the plans for this once released. Maybe it gets rendered as an image file or something and attached like any pic does.H20nly wrote:can she tell that she doesn't get them, or do you sit back thinking all is well until the luxury of having her in the room kicks in when she says "hmm, still didn't receive it"?

Edit, updated to the latest beta and now she gets the messages, so apparently they have it sorted.
Re: iPad
I’m sure this is probably available in iOS 10 by default but with the gboard alternative keyboard you can find and send animated gifs in a text message that animate in the message. I sent one to my friend on an Android phone and he had to tap the picture which opened another window to see the animation. Lame. It’s like having to explain a joke which ruins it.
In other news I upgraded El Capitan this past weekend. Only real issue was my NI keyboard and sound card didn't work. I had to do a firmware update and they work fine now. Hopefully I don't run into any other major issues.

Re: iPad
I’m learning from the Macrumors’ forum that there’s a problem with hyper active forums if you don’t want to turn it into a career. It’s impossible to keep up and most posts just get skipped over, people are only responding to something on page 1 of 12, or 2 people are battling it out over the same argument for pages and pages. Seems to me that The Lounge at its busiest was still manageable unless you disappeared for like a month. Now you could disappear for like a year and be fully up to speed in 15 minutes.
Anyhow, the more I think about it the more the iPhone + makes sense. My big concern was feeling like a tool making a phone call with it but then I realized nobody talks on the phone anymore anyway. As a consumption device the bigger screen would be quite welcome. Its essentially like a pocketable iPad Mini.

Telephone blab is 90% of my iphone use (the other 5% are Maps, and email reading. Between PC sessions when I type the answers to those emails.)beats me wrote:nobody talks on the phone anymore anyway.
To install an app after many years of abstaining from such, I tried to fix today my App Store password mess-up of many years. As a first step, I got a "Please enter password for xxlani@gmail.com" dialog into my face. Whoa. This iphone always belonged to me and I have no xxlani@gmail.com email address. Never did. The eff-up runs deep.
Re: iPad
It uses whatever iTunes account you used when you first set the phone up.
So if you used a friend's computer with their iTunes when you first set your phone up, it might be using their account when it comes to the App Store.

The phone was set up by the sales people at the Verizon store. Maybe they forget to remove their login info then.yur2die4 wrote:It uses whatever iTunes account you used when you first set the phone up.
Re: iPad
Some genius needs to make an Apple TV app for collective event streaming – concerts, festivals, conventions, etc. In a lot of these cases these are one offs or annual events and it’s probably not worth the time or money for the promoters to make a streaming app for just that event. Some are even PPV. If you can stream on a browser then you should also be able to stream on the common TV set boxes too. The developer could rent out the space on their app to the promoter. Win/win/win for everybody (promoter/developer/user)
Re: iPad
Of course I can’t find the info now, but this weekend I was checking Native Instrument’s compatibility with MacOS Sierra and I didn’t find the usual “Don’t do it!” letter from NI but I did find out that they are discontinuing support for a bunch of their 1st gen hardware with Sierra. So that’s going to be nice when you get a new Mac and have to also fork out for a new DJ controller or audio interface.
Looks like the only audio interface they will be supporting is the Audio 6 which thankfully is what I am using. I realize their DJ controller lineup has well advanced past the 1st gen but the core functions are still good enough for the hobbyist and I think this might be the first example of “no longer supported” in the digital DJ world.

Why are threads from Asperger's Audio Production moved over to the Lounge that clearly belong in Asperger's Audio Production?
And why aren't Audio & Music Production threads, wrongly posted in the Lounge, not moved over to Asperger's Audio Production in the same way?
I'M DISAPPOINTED!!! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!
