The IT department might like it only when they have to use it to remote into other windows machines to fix them. For the most part everyone in IT now days prefers osx and the ipad.beats me wrote:
I also think they overestimated people’s excitement level over using Office on a tablet. With the exception of running Office directly you can still use an iPad for business…but it also feels like something you can do a lot more with. The Surface RT seems like something you can just do business on and a whole lot less…but the IT department will love it.

Re: iPad
^ false.
the advantage of the Surface is that it can be joined to a Windows domain... which is what most businesses run on. another advantage, after joining the domain, is printing. people still like to print for some reason, go figure.
we have an iDoctor at work... I was SHOCKED when he brought in a Surface. dude is totally happy with it. Plus there are no iRestrictions so it just makes lifer easier for both sides of the argument.
on another note... I've been posting, after I leave work... from... *drum roll*... an iPad. yes, for weeks now I've been using one and none of you noticed.
I figured the autocorrected I's would have given it away for sure.

You bought an iPad or you have one on loan or some other noncommittal arrangement?

Re: iPad
2 or 3 hundred pages ago I may have mentioned that I was trying to get one to work at the office but the limitations prevented us from being able to deploy them... this is the test unit. It's not the new new iPad, it's a 2. I figured why let the thing rot in my desk drawer?...
So, "loaner"

Does your cardboard panhandling sign read “Have iPad. No money for apps. God bless.”?
Re: iPad
You’d probably do quite well in this area with that sign, but not as well as the Hispanic panhandler in Texas with a sign that reads “Need $ to get back to Mexico”.
Re: iPad
Sad part is it might be true.
Anyway... WTF is up with an Undo? cmd + Z
Please tell me there is a way to do that... I fuckin hate the back space thing and selecting everything first is equally painful

Well now I can say I finally read a Tarekith tutorial in its entirety.
That's not a jab at you. Its a tip of the hat to short attention spans.
