8) thanks! I'll try and check it out.

Right now I'm going backwards and watching Deadwood as I never got around to it before.

Hmmm, I tried watching the second season of 12 monkeys after enjoying season 1 ... but episode 1 put me right off. It seems they ran out of ideas for the original character arcs and just made everyone into different people. The blonde woman is a badass who wants to kill everyone now, the protagonist is now a peacable chap in a buddy cop movie with a guy who dedicated 30 years of his life to a cause and just hits S02 and says "yup, I'm your buddy again now". Reaaaally.

It's not a huge cliffhanger but there was definitely more story to tell.

That was how I felt too and I stopped watching it because of that. Just flew back to Seattle a couple weeks ago and loaded them all on the iPad to watch on the flight though, and it gets much better.

Ah, I might give it another try then. Things I've been watching instead -
  • Black Sails - well produced pirate business. After the first season it gets good enough to watch, the most recent season was darkly excellent.
  • Outcast - well scripted and well acted demon drama, very slow, could potentially fail abysmally but it's based on a Kirkman comic.
  • Preacher - slow moving and unfocused campy christianity soap, burdened with relationship drama. Fans of the comics seem not impressed.
  • Vikings - slowly degenerating into vapid idiocy. stupid and annoying character derailments galore. Punchable tripe.
  • Better call Saul - well crafted dirge about a lawyer, doing tedious lawyer things and coping with endless disappointment, just like the watching audience.
  • Game of Thrones - a documentary about the UKs relationship with Europe as recounted by a lunatic.

I see what you did there 8O

Agree about Vikings, it's definitely gotten too big and too played out for its own good. Some good moments early on, but the last two seasons were kind of meh and not really Viking-like.

Gave it 2 episodes and I’m done. Even though it airs on Cinemax the writing still wreaks of family friendly network trying to push the envelope as if demons fear the FCC rating board even more than God. Maybe review the vagina stabbing and colorful language of the Exorcist for reference.

Its a shame because the historical Rollo was more impressive. He stayed loyal to his people and conquered the fuck out of France on his own terms. It's actually a much better story than whatever the hell they were aiming for here. "Rollo decides that he wants to be a completely different character this season" ? I think that was the plan. Also " all those story threads we started about England over the entire shows history from episode 1 .... lets just ignore all those and start a different less good story instead"

Weird.

The Night Of. Very satisfying series and finale. Only a few plot points they didn’t follow up on but overall they nailed it.

I just wrapped up season 1 of Broadchurch, which was a LOT better than I expected. Probably one of the better TV shows I've watched actually, great whodunit.

What is the Night Of?

The Night Of is a limited HBO series. One season that just ended. It’s a murder/legal/prison drama.
