It's just awful. I actually keep watching because I'm fucking sucked in at this point and I'm weak.

But make no mistake: This fucking show is like Falcon Crest but with armour.

Nothing fucking happens except a lot of plotting and whining about whatnot. The last 20sec will usually have some action, but that's about it.

I've never read the book(s), but I'm guessing the covers feature a lusty buxom blonde being manhandled by a chap with long flowing hair and a pirate shirt?

:x

I’ll have to watch more episodes and report back. I will admit I was a little more mesmerized by the softcore porn aspects of this show compared to other premium channel series. It’s probably due to the costumes and my past standing as a goth. That questionably legal platinum blonde chick is nummy.

I dunno man, there were a couple things about Walking Dead that didn't sit right.

The cliched situation where friends partner tries to drunk rape the wife.
And then "Hey, how'd you get that scratch?"
"Der, uh, I must've did it in my sleep"
"Oh, right, considering the fact that your nails aren't that long and you've been "friends" with my wife since I was kaput and it just never dawned on me that something could've happened." Riggghhtt.
They better get that shit together along with Breaking Bad.
It seems like a lot of great shows fall apart after 1st or 2nd season because the writers didn't plan that far ahead because they weren't sure if the show would stick or not (Mad Men, Heroes, etc). For once it'd be nice to have a great show that's consistent with character and plot, cuz after time you see more shitty duct tape workarounds.

Was it Game of Thrones that pissed off a lot of people because all the indigenous people were brown?
Has Burn Notice been solid since the beginning?
What about Boardwalk Empire? Lost interest after 5 or 6 episodes, er, with shows in general, but I know I'll be binging on something soon...probly Burn Notice...

nummy is right. I'll give you that. But honestly at this point the Borgias (fantastic show, btw) has more T&A than Game of Thrones.

And nothing on cable beats the Spartacus series for T&A - and plenty of hogan shots as well.

Indigenous brown people? What? I rather thought they all looked like Klingons from the original Trek series, lol.

Burn Notice = solid.

Boardwalk? Fucking love it. I thought it started off really weak, but just got better and better.

Modern Family? Excellent. Hasn't been a bad episode in 2 seasons. Stellar all around.

But Game of Thrones had midget porn in episode 1! :x And, hold up, let me do some research here. Yup, the chick who plays the queen is the chick who played the queen in 300. She looks like she'd be Keira Knightley's older skanky sister or some shit. Also some nums in there.

Interesting about Borgias. What inspired me to finally check out Game of Thrones was reading an article on how Bories is bad timing and comparably Game of Thrones is better on every conceivable level, not a great show, but better.

I agree Spartacus is the best of the lot.

Also love Modern Family which is somewhat odd because there's absolutely nothing on that show that I can relate to in my life and go "so true", which is kind of the point of the show. :x

edit: Boardwalk Empire also grew on me a lot. Wanna date? Anything else we have in common other than mostly liking the same shows? Anything? I'm trying to think.

Burn Notice is ok. It's not solid all the time IMO, there's a lot of really stupid episodes, and it follows the same damn formula almost every episode too. Of course, they mix it up JUST enough to sort of keep you wanting more. I think there were 4-5 times my wife and I were ready to stop watching the series, and then an episode would come that made it fun again. The latest offshot show with Bruce Campbell was particularly bad. My brother in law and his wife love it, so it's sort of become a weekly thing where they come over to watch a new episode with us, otherwise I think I'd probably not bother.

Game Of Thrones is not at all an action show, though there's a bit of that as well. It's all about the characters and drama of not knowing what is right and wrong all the time. The books and TV show throw a ton of characters at you early on, so it can seem kind of all over the place, but very soon it gets REAL interesting.

Spartacus was really good, especially season 2. I really never expected it to be as good as it was, can't wait for season 3. Haven't seen Borgias yet, but it looks interesting....

Just read the summary of Burn Notice. Here's where they lost me: "he becomes a private eye with the skills he picked up as an intelligence operative".

I don't like crime/legal/political/medical dramas. I guess I just don't like dramas in general, and if I wanted to watch that shit I'd just watch a documentary on the real thing...which I do frequently. So whatever.

I thought I had something to contribute here, but I realised that I simply cannot get excited about anything any more. I've heard people raving about GOT, but I simply don't have any incentive to check it out. I used to be quite the film buff, but these days, I can't be arsed, and forget about TV. I'm still loving Fringe, though - right up my alley.

Well, likes I said, I'm sticking it out with Game of Thrones - but only because I'm weak. But listen, I get that people are RAVING about it. I just honestly don't get it. I mean, I can see how chicks would totally dig the show and all. It's nothing but nonstop yapping. Fuck. The first episode showed a bizarre glowing eyed mutant thingy who kicked some ass (can't remember the name of those things? wind walkers? ice dancer? snow people? who the fuck knows).

We haven't seen them since. :x

I thought, 'whoa' we could have a show about goblins and dragons on our hands and that would be cool. But no. No sirs. Instead we've gotten ENDLESS fucking yapping about spys and intrigue and mystery plots - all handled in such as way as to be one cliche after another. Now, I loves me some intrigue and plots and spys, but compare how it's handled in GoT (for teenage girls) vs the brilliant handling seen in The Borgias. Or Spartacus. Or the brilliant 'Rome' series.

:x

The midget is cool, though. Easily the most interesting character.

But hey..at least it's better than that Merlin show.

Stargate Universe. It got so freaking dreadfully boring that in the final episode the froze the characters. A fitting end!
The Fringe was also painful to watch in the end.
