It is bad if you use it as a crutch because you can't sing-- you really get the best out of it when you can sing-- and yes, at some point the overused warbly effect may go the way of the talkbox-with-mouthtube...

but it is fun, and there are at least a couple of free VSTs that do the stupider stuff very ably.
