I want a nice keyboard instrument

Post by nowtime » Tue Jul 06, 2010 5:11 pm

one that won't make me sick. one that won't make me crash my car....

What's the best keyboard you've ever played? I was all about the Access Virus Ti2 White Out, but I was playing a piano last night and I really want a great piano/organ/string thing machine as well.

Fitting a synth AND a rompler into an ergonomic setup with midi controllers and laptop is a challenge. I thought about controlling Kore/Komplete/Mainstage with the Virus. But I want an instrument that I won't have hates and frustrations with (bugs, design flaws). I don't know of any keyboard that s both a synth and rompler.

I thought about the Korg Triton Extreme plus a Tetra or Snow or Ti. The Nord Electro 3 looks like a good rompler but there is no Pitch Bend wheel (idiots!). Maybe I should get a Fender Rhodes. Or a Shruti Box :?

Can anyone talk about or refer me to a forum that talks about great keyboards?

I've heard good things about the Korg SV-1:

http://www.korg.com/sv1

Has pianos, electric pianos, organs, string synth

http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct09/a ... orgsv1.htm

I'm thinking of getting one myself but can't find a place that carries it nearby to give a go at it.

You read my mind on that. It would be much more of a contender if it had a flat top to put things on.

But I believe the search is over. Played an Access Virus Ti today. Absolutely beautiful instrument. I'm sure it has things that might bug me, but it sounds and feels awesome.
