ok Big brains Need help with my television

strange strange strange, ok at odd occasional moments about every 10 -20 minutes my tv
starts wiggin out, a cursor appears on the screen and then type starts to appear like someone
is typing, the cursor does not follow any form it hops around the screen sometimes near the top sometimes near the bottom and different places inbetween, , what the hell is this?

my tv is by the company olevia and is connected to standard time warner cable, nothing special but I've never seen anything like this before, and although my cable and internet are connected it happens when my computer is turned off as well as on and at the same time there is never anything wrong with my computer.

any of you heard of something like this?

sometimes i'll sit down and the lights will start flashing, briefly but it's prominent.

I had a similar 'problem' with a different brand TV. Turned out we had a neon bar light in the room and every once in a while the tv would catch stray infrared signals from it.

Had us pretty freaked out for a while. Thing would change the channel at random or volume up all the way.

Me and my roomate kept accusing each other of f'n with the other. I finally figured it out one day when I walked in front of the bar light and noticed I could make it happen specifically at that time.

you guys.......I'm serious though, I don't have any neon goin on or stray infra red signals, I did however put the cable box ontop of an old early 70s raidio reciever last night. I'll try
removing that and see if it happens again today.

I think you have stray signals happening. not sure where they are form yet. We have a radio control kitchen light/fan that is picking up stray signals form someone garage door opener (assuming) cuz it freaks out only every once in a while.

there is an explanation for what you are experiencing and I doubt it's the kool-aid.

well so far so good, it hasn't happened once all afternoon, hope it stays that way. i don't have any neighbors my apt isn't in a complex, we shall see what we shall see
